During the β€œUpCycle Life” youth exchange, participants worked on creating their own sustainable fashion brand ideas. One of them was StichEthics, a concept focused on exposing exploitation in the garment industry and promoting transparency.

The brand’s core values are clear:
✨ Transparency – workers and suppliers inform the world about real wages and prices.
✨ Voice of the people – more than 2,300 workers worldwide have already shed light on the industry.
✨ Responsibility – no names of suppliers or workers are shared to ensure safety and protection.
✨ Fair deals – thanks to this activity, more than 120 garment supply businesses have received better and fairer conditions.

The StichEthics idea shows that sustainability is not only about ecology – it is also about defending human rights, ensuring fairness, and changing the industry from within. πŸŒπŸ’š

According to McKinsey, the fashion industry has been growing rapidly for decades and it’s not slowing down. By 2030, the amount of clothes produced is expected to reach over 100 million tons πŸ‘šπŸ“ˆ – a 63% increase. But if things are getting this serious, what can we do?

One powerful step is to stop supporting fast fashion brands and start choosing more eco-friendly options 🌱.

Before buying something new, ask yourself: do I really need another pair of jeans?

A creative and sustainable solution is to give new life to old clothes by turning them into unique pieces βœ‚οΈπŸ‘•. This way, we reduce waste and express our personal style 🎨.

We’ll explore this topic and much more during the youth exchange “UpCycle Life” in Kaunas, Lithuania, from July 8th to 18th, 2025. There will be hands-on workshops where participants will learn how to upcycle your own clothes 🧡.
