From 23 to 31 May 2026, another training course was organised in Romania within the Erasmus+ project BRAVE – Building Resilience and Advancing Virtual Engagement.
The course welcomed three educators from Cyprus and offered an intensive programme focused on confident communication, public speaking, digital engagement and inclusive teaching methods. The activity continued the project’s effort to equip educators with practical tools that can be transferred directly into adult education and professional training.
From Speaking Anxiety to Confident Communication
A central objective of the course was to help participants better understand the causes of public-speaking anxiety and explore effective ways to manage it.
The educators took part in guided speaking exercises, short presentations, role-playing activities and practical simulations. These tasks allowed them to work on voice projection, clarity, pacing, body language and audience interaction.
Rather than concentrating only on theory, the course encouraged repeated practice in a supportive environment. This approach helped participants identify their strengths, recognise areas for improvement and become more comfortable when speaking in front of groups.
Digital Support for Better Presentations
The training also explored how digital tools can improve communication and teaching.
Participants examined methods for creating clearer presentations, using interactive resources and supporting learners through digital platforms. They also discussed how artificial intelligence and virtual learning environments can offer feedback, simulate realistic communication situations and help learners practise at their own pace.
These activities were particularly relevant for educators working with adult learners who may have limited digital experience or low confidence when participating in online education.
Creating More Engaging Learning Experiences
Another important area of the course was the development of learner-centred teaching methods.
The educators explored ways to make training sessions more interactive through discussion, storytelling, collaborative tasks, peer feedback and scenario-based learning. They also considered how to adapt activities for participants with different communication abilities, educational backgrounds and levels of digital competence.
The programme highlighted the importance of creating safe learning environments in which adult learners feel respected, listened to and encouraged to participate.
Reflection, Feedback and Professional Growth
Throughout the course, the participants were invited to reflect on their own communication and teaching styles.
Peer observation and structured feedback were used to support continuous improvement. The educators had the opportunity to test new approaches, receive suggestions and adjust their delivery during the programme.
By the end of the mobility, the participants had developed stronger competences in:
- planning and delivering effective presentations;
- managing public-speaking anxiety;
- using voice and body language with greater confidence;
- integrating digital tools into teaching;
- facilitating interactive group activities;
- supporting learners with fewer opportunities;
- providing constructive and motivating feedback.
Applying the Results in Cyprus
After returning to Cyprus, the three educators will be able to apply the methods and resources explored during the course in their own professional activities.
The knowledge gained can be used in workshops, adult-learning programmes, staff training and communication-focused educational activities. In this way, the impact of the mobility will extend beyond the direct participants and reach wider groups of learners and colleagues.
The course held from 23 to 31 May 2026 represented another valuable stage in the implementation of the BRAVE project. Through international mobility, practical learning and professional exchange, the project continues to strengthen confidence, resilience and digital participation in adult education.
