We are pleased to announce the approval of the Erasmus+ project Digital Boost for Health and Beauty Professionals – DiBoost-HB, project reference 2025-1-PT01-KA210-VET-000357067.
The project is implemented as a Small-scale Partnership in Vocational Education and Training – KA210-VET and has received a total Erasmus+ grant of €60,000. DiBoost-HB will run for 24 months, from 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2027.
The initiative brings together four organisations from Portugal, Spain, Romania and Türkiye:
- AFN – Academia Formação do Norte, Portugal, as coordinator;
- AEGARE – Asociación de Empresarios Gallegos en Aragón y Riberas del Ebro, Spain;
- EDU TECH GRYPHON DISCOVERIES, Romania;
- Mudanya University, Türkiye.
Responding to the Digital Skills Gap
The health, beauty and wellness sector is undergoing rapid digital transformation. Professionals increasingly need to use online appointment systems, digital communication platforms, specialised software, social media, online marketing tools and secure methods for managing customer information.
However, many professionals, students, trainers and unemployed people do not yet have sufficient opportunities to develop these competences. DiBoost-HB was created to reduce this digital skills gap and ensure that vocational education remains relevant to current labour-market requirements.
The project aims to strengthen digital readiness, improve employability and support the modernisation of vocational education and training. It also promotes inclusion by making digital learning resources accessible to people with fewer opportunities and those at risk of exclusion from an increasingly digital labour market.
Main Objectives
DiBoost-HB will provide professionals, students and trainers with practical digital skills adapted specifically to the health and beauty sector.
The project seeks to:
- develop specialised digital competences for health and beauty professionals;
- improve employability and adaptability to the digital labour market;
- support trainers in applying modern digital teaching methodologies;
- provide inclusive learning opportunities for unemployed and vulnerable groups;
- create open-access educational materials that remain available after the project ends;
- strengthen cooperation between vocational education providers and the professional sector.
Digital Transformation Curriculum
One of the project’s main results will be the Digital Transformation Curriculum for Health and Beauty Professionals.
The curriculum will provide structured educational materials and practical guidance on topics such as digital customer management, online appointment systems, digital communication, online marketing, specialised sectoral software, cybersecurity and personal-data protection.
It will also include digital simulations, practical exercises, case studies, assessment tools and a glossary of relevant digital terms. These resources will help learners practise important tasks in a safe environment before applying them in their professional activities.
EDU TECH GRYPHON DISCOVERIES Romania will lead the development of the curriculum and support the creation of its digital and interactive learning materials.
Training Course for Trainers
A specialised international training course will be organised in Türkiye for 16 trainers, with four representatives from each partner organisation.
The course will help trainers integrate digital tools, interactive resources, simulations and inclusive e-learning methods into their teaching. Participants will explore sector-specific applications connected to customer management, digital marketing, online consultation and information security.
The trained educators will act as multipliers, transferring the acquired knowledge to learners, professionals and colleagues within their institutions and communities.
Practical Workshops in Four Countries
Practical workshops will be organised in Portugal, Spain, Romania and Türkiye. Each partner will host at least one workshop involving a minimum of 30 participants.
A total of at least 120 professionals, vocational learners, unemployed people and entrepreneurs will receive hands-on training.
Participants will practise using digital tools for appointment management, customer relations, social media communication, online business development, digital marketing and cybersecurity. The workshops will also test the project curriculum and gather feedback for its improvement.
Expected Impact
DiBoost-HB is expected to improve the confidence and digital competences of professionals, students and trainers working in or preparing to enter the health and beauty sector.
The project will contribute to:
- increased employability and professional adaptability;
- more effective and modern vocational training;
- improved digital customer communication and business management;
- greater awareness of data protection and online security;
- stronger cooperation between education providers and industry;
- wider access to inclusive and practical digital learning;
- improved competitiveness and sustainability of health and beauty businesses.
The educational resources developed through the project will remain freely accessible, allowing them to be reused in future courses, workshops and vocational training programmes.
The approval of DiBoost-HB represents an important step towards preparing professionals and learners for the digital future of the health and beauty sector. Through practical training, accessible resources and European cooperation, the project will support a more skilled, inclusive and digitally confident workforce.
